A social worker and counsellor for twenty-five plus years and clinical supervisor for more than twenty, I have worked in the fields of homelessness, addictions, in community health and with ethnically and culturally diverse communities. In addition, I provide supervision to workers in a wide range of other welfare and counselling fields, which gives me insight into areas outside of my own direct work experience. I bring all of this to my roles as individual and group supervisor, counsellor and presenter of workshops. A priority for me is to build warm, safe and transparent relationships with the workers I supervise and with my counselling clients. This is crucial, both in assisting my supervisees to reflect on their work and to successfully negotiate their own and their clients’ well-being and in helping my counselling clients to make the changes they desire.
